Your child's first dental appointment

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist by their first birthday to ensure all is progressing well. Early childhood caries (tooth decay) can develop rapidly, progressing from the hard, outer enamel layer of a tooth into the softer, inner dentin in six months or less.

Pediatric Dental Treatments

Healthy Smile Habits

As your child grows, we focus on prevention and education to ensure their smile remains healthy. Our goal is to help children learn and develop consistent oral hygiene habits.

Tooth Colored Fillings

When necessary, we use composite fillings with a tooth-colored resin to fill in cavities. As a result, fillings blend in naturally.

Dental Emergencies

If you are unsure if the pain your child is experiencing requires immediate attention, please call us.

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as "laughing gas," nitrous oxide is widely used in pediatric dental offices with children receiving dental care to help a nervous child get through dental treatment with a smile. It is a blend of two gases — nitrous oxide and oxygen – and is safely delivered via a nasal mask. It is safe, has a rapid onset, and is quickly eliminated from the body after a short period of breathing 100% oxygen at the end of treatment. The nitrous oxide acts within the body to create a slight "happy" feeling in children; it does not put your child to sleep just helps to safely relieve anxiety.

Needle Free Laser White Fillings

If your child is anxious about a cavity filling, we offer needle free white fillings. Ask our doctors if your child is a candidate for laser fillings.

Prophylaxis (Teeth Cleaning)

During their regular six-month appointment, your child will experience a gentle and thorough cleaning to help prevent cavities and promote overall oral health.

Dental Sealants

A plastic coating can be professionally applied to prevent cavities by sealing the chewing surfaces. Dental sealants are easy to apply and provide years of protection.

Laser Frenectomy (Infant Lip and Tongue-tie Release)

We use a laser to create normal tongue function, allowing a baby to latch and breastfeed efficiently. Proper function also promotes normal speech development, makes it possible for a child to self-cleanse the mouth during eating, allows adequate swallowing patterns, and provides for proper growth and development.

Tooth Extractions

When a tooth has decay, disease, trauma, or may impede normal oral development, we remove the tooth.

General Anesthesia/Hospital Dentistry

General anesthesia may be recommended for children with extensive dental needs, certain medical conditions, special needs patients, and for children who cannot cooperate in the office while awake due to age or maturity level or extreme anxiety. With this technique, children are asleep and all dental work is completed at one time under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Our Doctors are willing to discuss the risks and benefits of general anesthesia to help you decide if this is a good treatment option for your child.

“Excellent dental practice”

Excellent dental practice for the little ones to my big one. My son has been with Berry’s since he had teeth and we will not be leaving until Dr. Berry says he’s too old and has to leave. Love them all. Do yourself and your child’s teeth a favor…patronize them! You won’t be disappointed.
